There are a number of factors that are associated with increased risk of developing diabetes. Shock, grief and loss or continued emotional stress could contribute to a person becoming a diabetic.
Factors that contribute to development of diabetes include:
– Family history of diabetes
– Chronic intake of refined foods that are high in sugar
– Stressful incident or severe shock for example illness or trauma, death of a family member or loved one etc.
– Pancreatitis – an infection or inflammation of the pancreas that sometimes results from alcohol abuse or intake, may also lead to a person becoming a diabetic.
